Succulent marinated beef stir-fried with a colorful medley of vegetables including onion, garlic, snow peas, green peas, carrot, celery, and red bell pepper.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound New York strip steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1.5 teaspoons white sugar
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 1 medium sweet onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 pound snow peas
  • 0.75 cup green peas
  • 1 medium carrot, sliced
  • 2 stalks celery, sliced
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, seeded and cut into chunks
Instructions:
  • Coat sliced steak evenly by sprinkling cornstarch over it in a large bowl and tossing gently.
  • In a small bowl, combine soy sauce and sugar, whisking until the sugar dissolves. Pour this flavorful mixture over the steak, ensuring it gets well coated. Refrigerate and let it marinate for at least 2 hours, or ideally overnight for the best flavor infusion.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté onion and garlic in 1 tablespoon of oil until tender, about 5 to 7 minutes. Mix in oyster sauce, and season with salt and pepper.
  • Stir in snow peas, green peas, carrot, celery, and bell pepper; sauté until veggies are tender-crisp, about 7 to 10 minutes. Transfer cooked vegetables from the pan.
  • Take out the steak from the marinade, ensuring to shake off any extra liquid; dispose of the marinade.
  • In the same skillet, warm up 2 tablespoons of oil. Sear the steak to your liking, about 3 to 5 minutes per side for medium doneness. Return the vegetables to the skillet, mix thoroughly, and heat through. Serve hot.
