Indulgent dessert for two: Flambéed caramelized banana slices in rum and orange juice, served over vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup orange juice
  • 1 large banana, cut into 1/4-inch-thick slices
  • 1 tablespoon rum
  • 1 cup vanilla ice cream
Instructions:
  • In a skillet over medium heat, caramelize butter and brown sugar for 3 to 5 minutes. Add orange juice and mix for 2 minutes. Coat banana slices evenly with the orange juice mixture.
  • Carefully ignite rum in skillet using a long match. Shake skillet to allow flames to subside for about 30 seconds. Cook for an additional minute.
  • Scoop vanilla ice cream into 2 bowls and top with spoonfuls of banana mixture.
