Indulge in decadent bananas flambé with creamy ice cream for a perfect dessert contrast.
Ingredients:
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 fluid ounces banana liqueur
  • 4 medium bananas, peeled
  • 4 fluid ounces coffee-flavored liqueur (such as Kahlua®)
  • 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
Instructions:
  • In a medium skillet over low heat, melt butter and add brown sugar and cinnamon. Stir frequently until sugar dissolves and sauce thickens, about 3 minutes. Mix in banana liqueur.
  • Carefully halve the bananas lengthwise and lay them in the skillet. Sauté for 1 minute, flip gently, and continue cooking until beautifully browned and tender, for another 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Pour in the coffee-flavored liqueur and heat for 1 to 2 minutes. Carefully tilt the skillet and flambe with a lighter. Remove from the heat.
  • Spoon creamy scoops of ice cream into 4 bowls. Top each with a fresh banana and drizzle with warm sauce. Enjoy right away.
