Decadent chocolate-orange cookies that are irresistibly chewy and taste like candy.
Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cup whipping (heavy) cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds
  • 1/2 pound candied orange peel, very finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 2 bars (4 ounces each) sweet baking chocolate
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F and generously grease and flour a cookie sheet.
  • Combine the whipping cream and sugar until fully incorporated. Mix in the almonds, orange peel, and flour. The dough will be thin in consistency.
  • Spoon small amounts of the mixture onto a baking sheet, then use a knife or spatula to gently flatten each one.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until the cookies are lightly browned around the edges. Let cool for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Gently melt the chocolate bars on low heat. Flip the cookies over and generously spread them with the melted chocolate. Let them air dry for 8 hours at room temperature until the chocolate sets. Store the cookies in a sealed container or in the refrigerator.
