Decadent French lace cookies with almonds, candied oranges, and chocolate.
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 0.75 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup finely chopped almonds
  • 8 ounces chopped candied orange peel
  • 8 (1 ounce) squares semisweet chocolate
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Combine the sugar and cream in a blender until smooth. Mix in the flour, almonds, and orange peel. Place spoonfuls of the mixture on a well-greased and floured cookie sheet. Flatten into thin circles using a spatula.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) until the edges turn light brown, approximately 10 to 12 minutes. Allow to cool slightly before transferring from the cookie sheet. Cool completely.
  • - Finely chop the chocolate. Melt it gently over low heat or in the microwave on medium for 3 minutes. Flip the cookies over, coat the bottoms with the melted chocolate, and let them sit until the chocolate sets, for at least 3 hours. Store in a sealed container either at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
