Foolproof flat iron steaks with balsamic vinegar, garlic, and thyme mixture.
Ingredients:
  • 2 (1 pound) flat iron steaks
  • 0.25 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons finely chopped green onions
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme
  • 0.5 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions:
  • Combine steaks, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, thyme, mustard, and black pepper in a large resealable plastic bag. Squeeze out air, seal the bag, and massage to coat the steaks evenly. Refrigerate and marinate for 1 hour.
  • Preheat the grill until it's nice and hot, then brush the grate lightly with oil. Take the steaks out of the refrigerator and allow them to come to room temperature for 10 minutes.
  • Discard marinade and remove steaks from bag.
  • Grill steaks until they are medium-rare and juicy in the center, about 6 to 7 minutes per side, reaching an internal temperature of 130°F (54°C). Rest on a plate for 5 minutes before slicing.
