French Chocolate Buttercream

Decadent French chocolate buttercream for all your sweet treats.
Ingredients:
  • 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate
  • 0.33333334326744 cup white sugar
  • 0.25 cup water
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature, cut into tablespoons
Instructions:
  • Microwave chocolate per package instructions until melted. Allow to cool completely before using.
  • In a saucepan, stir together sugar and water until boiling. Allow to boil for 1 minute, then remove from heat and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat eggs with an electric mixer until frothy. Slowly drizzle in sugar mixture, then beat on high speed until mixture turns pale yellow and expands in volume (about 5 minutes). With the mixer running, add butter one tablespoon at a time, ensuring to beat well after each addition until frosting becomes smooth.
  • Combine the cooled melted chocolate into the mixture and beat on high speed for about 5 minutes until the frosting thickens and becomes fluffy.
