Elevate your ham and cheese toastie with Dijon mustard and caramelized onion relish for a gourmet twist.
Ingredients:
  • 16 slices white bread
  • 30g butter, melted
  • 50g vintage cheddar, coarsely grated
  • 60g thinly sliced ham
  • 20.00 ml caramelised onion relish, plus extra, to serve
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves, plus extra, to serve
Instructions:
  • Preheat the pie maker. Cut out a disc from each bread slice using an 8cm round pastry cutter, then brush one side of each disc with butter.
  • Take 8 bread discs and spread mustard on the unbuttered side of each. Layer half of the cheese and half of the ham on top, followed by all of the relish and thyme. Add the remaining ham and cheese on top. Finally, place the remaining bread discs with the buttered side facing up on top of each sandwich.
  • Place 4 stacks in the pie maker with care, then close the lid and cook until golden brown, approximately 5 minutes.
  • Transfer the toasties onto a wire rack and continue with the remaining stacks.
  • Allow the toasties to cool for a bit to let the filling settle, then serve with a side of extra relish and fresh thyme for added flavor.
