Ingredients:
  • 200g crackers, such as Arnott’s Jatz Original or Arnott’s Country Cheese
  • 75g (1/2 cup) plain flour
  • 25g (1/4 cup) coarsely grated cheddar
  • 125g butter, melted
  • 18.40 gm oil
  • 50g salted butter, chopped
  • 2 brown onions, thinly sliced
  • 4 eggs
  • 200ml ctn Light Sour Cream
  • 120g (1 1/4 cups) coarsely grated gruyère
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 170C/150C fan forced. Lightly grease a 20 x 30cm slice pan and line it with baking paper, leaving an overhang on the long sides.
  • In a food processor, pulse crackers until coarse crumbs. Add flour and cheese, pulse to combine. Pour in melted butter, process until mixture comes together. Press into pan with a spoon. Bake until golden brown, about 15 minutes.
  • While you're waiting, prepare the filling. Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add butter and onion and sauté, stirring occasionally, for 10-15 minutes until lightly golden and caramelized.
  • In a large jug, combine eggs and Bulla Light Sour Cream and season with salt and pepper. Spread half of the gruyere over the biscuit base, then layer with the onion and remaining gruyere. Pour the egg mixture over the top. Bake for 30 minutes until the filling is set. Allow the dish to cool in the pan before slicing and serving.
