Ingredients:
  • 6 large pears, peeled and sliced
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 0.66666668653488 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon grated nutmeg
  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked single pie crust
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C) for a perfect bake.
  • In a bowl, gently coat the pears with fresh lemon juice. In a separate small bowl, combine white sugar and nutmeg, then evenly sprinkle this mixture over the pears. Stir well to ensure all the flavors are perfectly blended.
  • Press pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish. Combine butter, brown sugar, and flour in a bowl, cut together with a pastry cutter until crumbly. Fill pie shell with pear mixture and top with brown sugar mixture.
  • Place in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Then lower the oven temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and continue baking until the filling is bubbling and the crumble topping is lightly browned, for about 35 more minutes.
