Broiled pineapple with brown sugar and coconut topping, served with vanilla ice cream for a sweet and irresistible tropical dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 1 fresh pineapple
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup flaked coconut
Instructions:
  • Preheat the broiler and adjust the oven rack to 6 inches below the heat source.
  • Trim and quarter the pineapple, removing the core. Make slices by separating the fruit from the skin, keeping the presentation in mind. Sprinkle each section with 2 tablespoons each of brown sugar and coconut on a baking sheet.
  • Toast the coconut under the broiler for approximately 5 minutes, until golden brown.
