Make a luscious, summery pie with a silky glaze of orange liqueur and fresh strawberry puree.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (9 inch) refrigerated pie crust
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled
  • 0.75 cup water
  • 0.75 cup white sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons orange liqueur (such as Grand Marnier®)
  • 3 cups fresh strawberries, hulled
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Place the pie crust in the preheated oven and bake until it puffs up and turns a beautiful golden brown, usually around 20 to 25 minutes. Once done, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Blend 1 cup of strawberries until smooth. Transfer the puree to a saucepan, then mix in water, sugar, and cornstarch. Cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring regularly. Remove from heat and stir in orange liqueur. Set aside.
  • Layer the remaining 3 cups of strawberries in a visually pleasing way on the pie crust. Drizzle the glaze over the strawberries. Chill in the refrigerator until the glaze is firm, approximately 4 hours.
