Elevate your desserts with this tangy balsamic-infused strawberry sauce; ideal for pies, cakes, or cheesecakes.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled
  • 0.25 cup white sugar, or more to taste
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 0.5 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan, merge strawberries, sugar, 2 tablespoons water, and balsamic vinegar, then let it gently simmer over medium heat.
  • Lower the heat to medium-low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Combine 2 tablespoons of water with cornstarch, whisking until smooth in a small bowl.
  • Stir in cornstarch mixture into the strawberry mixture. Cook and stir until thickened, about 1 to 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
  • Blend mixture until it is silky smooth.
