Decadent chocolate muffins made with friendship starter - a delightful twist on traditional bread baking.
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 teaspoon cocoa powder
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup Amish Friendship Bread Starter
  • 1 egg
  • 0.33333334326744 cup vegetable oil
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Combine 1/4 teaspoon of cocoa with 1/4 cup of sugar in a small bowl. Grease 10 cups of a muffin tin, then coat each cup with the sugar mixture on the bottom and sides.
  • Combine flour, 1/2 cup of sugar, cocoa powder, salt, baking soda, and baking powder in a large bowl. Add the friendship starter, egg, oil, and vanilla; mix until fully incorporated. Fill the muffin cups halfway with the batter.
  • Bake in a preheated oven for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into a muffin comes out clean. Allow to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
