Amish friendship cake with vanilla, walnuts, and pantry staples, easily customizable with bananas, dates, or raisins. Deliciously baked into two cakes.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 0.66666698455811 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking soda
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease two 9-inch loaf pans.
  • Combine flour, sourdough starter, sugar, oil, eggs, baking powder, vanilla, and salt in a bowl. Mix in chopped walnuts, then fold in baking soda. Transfer batter to the prepared pans.
  • Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, for 45 minutes to 1 hour in the preheated oven.
