Indulge in the trendiest drink of 2017: frosé (frozen rosé).
Ingredients:
  • 215.00 gm caster sugar
  • 250g strawberries, hulled, chopped
  • 750ml bottle rosé wine
  • 82.50 ml strawberry liqueur
  • 250.00 ml chilled soda water
  • Extra halved strawberries, to serve
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, mix sugar with 1 cup of water until the sugar is dissolved, about 5 minutes. Increase the heat to high and bring to a boil. Lower the heat to simmer without stirring for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool completely.
  • Blend the strawberries in a blender until smooth, adding 1 tablespoon of water if needed. Strain the mixture into a large jug. Mix in the sugar syrup and wine. Pour the mixture into a 2-litre metal container. Freeze overnight.
  • Take out the frozen mixture from the freezer. Use a fork to create big ice crystals by flaking the mixture.
  • In a pitcher, mix liqueur and soda water together. Pour the mixture equally into serving glasses. Finish by adding frosé and extra strawberries on top. Serve right away for a refreshing treat.
