Indulge in the perfect balance of salty and sweet with Halo Top Sea Salt Caramel, perfect for seasonal entertaining.
Ingredients:
  • 80g coconut oil
  • 75g cacao powder
  • 60ml maple syrup
  • 12 ice cream wafers
  • 3 x 473ml tubs Halo Top Sea Salt Caramel, softened
  • 54.00 gm maple syrup, extra
  • 20.00 gm boiling water
  • 40.00 ml hazelnuts, toasted, chopped
Instructions:
  • Prepare a loaf pan by lining it with plastic wrap, ensuring the wrap overhangs on the sides. Gently heat the coconut oil in a small saucepan for 2 minutes until it melts and becomes smooth. Take the saucepan off the heat, then mix in the cacao powder and maple syrup. Let it cool for 15 minutes.
  • Place 4 wafers on the bottom of the pan, cutting to size if needed. Spread a third of the cacao mixture over the wafers. Freeze for 5 minutes or until set.
  • Spread a layer of half the frozen dessert over the cacao mixture in the pan. Top with 4 wafers, trimming them to fit. Spread with half of the remaining cacao mixture. Freeze for 15 minutes or until firm.
  • Top the cacao layer with the rest of the frozen dessert and remaining wafers, cut to fit. Chill the remaining cacao mixture in the fridge, then cover the slice and freeze for 6 hours until firm.
  • Heat the remaining cacao mixture on low for 1 minute until softened. Take off the heat, then mix in extra maple syrup and boiling water until smooth. Transfer the slice to a serving platter, remove the plastic wrap, spread the maple syrup mixture on top, sprinkle with hazelnuts, and cut into slices. Serve right away.
