Crispy cinnamon chips paired with aromatic fruit salsa.
Ingredients:
  • 1 Fuji apple - peeled, cored and diced
  • 1 cup sliced fresh strawberries
  • 2 kiwis, peeled and sliced
  • 2 bananas, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup oil for frying
  • 6 (10 inch) flour tortillas
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Instructions:
  • Combine Fuji apple, strawberries, kiwis, bananas, lime juice, white sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a medium bowl. Refrigerate for about 20 minutes, covered, until chilled.
  • Warm up the oil in a medium heavy saucepan until it reaches 375°F (190°C).
  • Cut flour tortillas into triangles. Gently fry the triangles in hot oil until golden brown, for 2 to 4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  • In a large ziplock bag, combine white sugar and cinnamon. Add fried tortilla triangles, seal the bag, and shake until coated.
  • Enjoy the cinnamon chips fresh out of the oven alongside the refreshing chilled fruit salsa.
