Wholesome oat bars bursting with your favorite fruit, perfect for quick snacks, lunchboxes, or breakfast on-the-go.
Ingredients:
  • 0.66666668653488 cup packed brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 1.25 cups whole wheat flour
  • 0.5 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup sliced fresh strawberries
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a piping hot 400 degrees F (200 degrees C), and generously coat a 10x14-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, mix brown sugar and butter until smooth and creamy using an electric mixer.
  • In a separate bowl, combine whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, salt, cinnamon, baking soda, and allspice. Slowly add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix thoroughly. Fold in oats using a wooden spoon until combined. Firmly press half of the oat batter into the baking dish.
  • 1. Preheat the oven and bake the crust for 10 minutes. 2. Top the crust with strawberries and blueberries, sprinkle on the remaining oat batter, and gently press down to flatten the mixture. 3. Continue baking until the edges turn golden brown, for about 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Allow the delectable treats to cool in the pan until they reach ultimate deliciousness, then slice into 24 scrumptious bars.
