Savory meatloaf with rich lasagna flavors, featuring beef, Italian sausage, and dual sauces.
Ingredients:
  • 0.66666668653488 cup Italian-seasoned panko (Japanese bread crumbs)
  • 0.33333334326744 cup milk
  • 1 (3.5 ounce) link Italian sausage, casing removed and chopped
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 0.33333334326744 cup marinara sauce, divided
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 4 (1 ounce) sticks string cheese
  • 5 fluid ounces heavy whipping cream
  • 2 cups finely shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1 pinch freshly grated nutmeg
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and lightly grease a loaf pan.
  • Mix together the panko, milk, and egg in a small bowl and let it sit for 5 minutes to soften.
  • Mix together ground beef, sausage, onions, 3 tablespoons of marinara sauce, and garlic salt in a bowl. Incorporate panko mixture by hand until well combined. Press half of the mixture into the pan. Place 2 string cheese sticks side by side horizontally on top, leaving a bit of space on each end of the pan, then stack the remaining cheese sticks on top. Cover with the remaining meat mixture.
  • After baking for 40 minutes, generously top with the remaining marinara sauce and continue baking for an additional 20 minutes.
  • As the meatloaf cooks, let's whip up the Alfredo sauce. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter while gently stirring for around 1 minute. Pour in heavy cream and mix well. Toss in Parmesan cheese and stir until smooth. Finally, season with nutmeg for a touch of warmth.
  • Once cooked, let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before topping with Alfredo sauce, slicing, and serving.
