Indulge in a delicious fusion of lasagna and cheeseburgers for a truly satisfying meal.
Ingredients:
  • 2 medium onions, chopped (1 cup)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 can (28 oz) chunky tomato sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 egg
  • 1 container (15 oz) ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese (4 oz)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 8 slices bacon, crisply cooked, crumbled (1/2 cup)
  • 12 uncooked lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (8 oz)
Instructions:
  • Prepare a 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish by spraying it with cooking spray. In a 12-inch skillet, brown the beef, onions, salt, and pepper over medium-high heat for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Drain any excess fat. Add tomato sauce and water, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk the egg until fluffy. Mix in ricotta cheese, Swiss cheese, fresh parsley, and 1/4 cup of crispy bacon.
  • In a baking dish, layer 1 cup of the beef mixture, followed by 4 uncooked noodles. Spread half of the ricotta mixture, 2 cups beef mixture, and 3/4 cup of Cheddar cheese over the noodles. Repeat the layers once, starting with 4 noodles. Finish with a final layer of noodles, beef mixture, Cheddar cheese, and bacon. Cover the lasagna with a sheet of foil sprayed with cooking spray. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours but no longer than 24 hours before baking.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Bake covered for 45 minutes. Remove the cover and bake for an additional 30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown. Let it rest covered for 10 minutes before serving.
