Brown sugar-glazed ham with baked garlic cloves.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (8 pound) ham
  • 20 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 10 whole cloves
  • 1 (6 ounce) can pineapple juice
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground ginger
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • Rinse the ham and gently dry it with paper towels, then place it cut-side down in a shallow roasting pan.
  • Using the sharp point of a knife, create 20 incisions all over the ham. Insert one garlic clove into each incision.
  • Insert whole cloves into the ham for added flavor and aroma.
  • Wrap the ham snugly in aluminum foil.
  • Cook in the oven that's already hot for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
  • Combine pineapple juice, brown sugar, dry mustard, and ginger in a bowl while the ham bakes.
  • Uncover the ham and generously drizzle the pineapple juice glaze over it.
  • Place the ham back in the oven, leaving it uncovered, and bake for an additional 45 minutes until the glaze thickens. Remember to baste the ham every 15 minutes.
  • Let ham rest for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing, ensuring to remove garlic and whole cloves beforehand.
