"Indulge in homemade Ghirardelli chocolate chip waffles with loved ones at brunch."
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Ghirardelli Unsweetened Cocoa
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 4 large eggs, separated
  • 4 tablespoons canola oil
  • 1.5 cups Ghirardelli Semi-Sweet Chocolate Baking Chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat the waffle iron following the manufacturer's instructions.
  • In a bowl, sieve together the flour, cocoa, and baking powder. Add sugar and salt, then whisk until everything is well combined.
  • Whisk together milk, egg yolks, and oil in a separate bowl. Pour this mixture into the flour mixture and gently whisk until just combined.
  • Using an electric beater, whip the egg whites in a clean, dry bowl at medium speed until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the batter along with the chocolate chips.
  • Pour one-third of the batter onto the center of the waffle iron. Close the lid and cook for about 5 minutes until the waffle is crispy on both sides. Repeat with the rest of the batter. Serve hot.
