Ginger biscuits with poached pear and brie

Exciting wine tasting party bites for all experience levels to enjoy. Perfect for sipping and snacking.
Ingredients:
  • 750ml (3 cups) water
  • 100g (1/2 cup) caster sugar
  • 125ml (1/2 cup) honey
  • 2 pears, peeled
  • 1 x 7cm cinnamon stick (see note)
  • 250 pkt Gingernut Biscuits
  • 200g brie
Instructions:
  • Combine water, sugar, and honey in a medium saucepan. Stir over medium heat until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  • Combine the pears and cinnamon and bring the mixture to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer gently for an hour. Let it cool completely.
  • Take the pears out of the syrup and place them elegantly on a serving platter or cheese board alongside the biscuits and brie.
