Elevate cherry and pear crisp with zesty ginger using Betty Crocker® oatmeal cookie mix for a delightful dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Oatmeal Cookie Mix
  • 3/4 cup cold butter or margarine
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 6 medium pears, peeled, cut into 1-inch pieces (about 7 cups)
  • 1 bag (5.5 oz) dried cherries
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and generously coat the bottom of a 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Place the cookie mix in a large bowl. Blend in the butter using a pastry blender or two knives until the mixture resembles peas. Take out 1 cup of the mixture and combine it with walnuts in a small bowl for the topping. Press the remaining mixture into the bottom of the dish.
  • In a separate large bowl, gently mix together pears, cherries, brown sugar, and ginger. Spoon the fruit mixture over the crust, then sprinkle the reserved crumb/nut mixture on top.
  • Bake for 40 to 50 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the edges are bubbly. Allow to cool for about 20 minutes. Serve while warm.
