Gluten-free carbonara: A delicious twist on the classic Italian pasta dish. Made with gluten-free spaghetti, crispy bacon, asparagus, and Parmesan cheese for a simple and tasty dinner option.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (12 ounce) box Barilla® Gluten Free Spaghetti
  • 1 cup chopped raw bacon
  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed, cut 1 inch long on a bias
  • 5 large egg yolks, lightly beaten
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Cook pasta as per package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, sizzle onions, bacon, and oil until bacon is crisp and onions are translucent, around 5 minutes. Toss in asparagus and cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  • Combine egg yolks and cheese in a bowl, then season with salt and pepper. Set aside for later.
  • Combine pasta with crispy bacon and tender asparagus in a sizzling skillet until all ingredients are heated. Take the skillet off the heat.
  • Gently mix the yolk mixture with pasta, stirring energetically until the yolks thicken and evenly coat the spaghetti. Serve right away.
