Delicious gluten-free apple crisp with buttery, crispy topping using gluten-free flour and cornstarch instead of oats.
Ingredients:
  • 6 medium apples - peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 0.5 cup apple juice
  • 0.75 cup light brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup cold butter
  • 0.66666668653488 cup gluten-free all purpose baking flour
  • 0.66666668653488 cup cornstarch
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease an 8-inch square baking dish.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine apples with cinnamon and 2 tablespoons of cornstarch. Transfer mixture to the baking dish and pour apple juice over the top.
  • In a large bowl, mix brown sugar and butter until creamy using an electric mixer. Stir in flour and 2/3 cup cornstarch using 2 forks or a pastry blender until a crumbly texture forms. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the apples.
  • Bake in the oven until the apples are tender and the crust is golden brown, for about 40 to 50 minutes.
