Create gluten-free gravy by whisking gluten-free flour into classic gravy ingredients.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound bulk pork sausage
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 10 tablespoons gluten-free all purpose baking flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 60 grinds black pepper, divided
  • 6 cups milk, divided
  • 1 pinch salt to taste
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sauté the sausage until browned and crumbly, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain and discard excess grease, then reduce heat to low.
  • Melt butter with cooked sausage, then whisk in flour until a peanut butter-colored mixture forms after 5 to 10 minutes of constant whisking. Season with 1 teaspoon salt and 30 grinds of black pepper.
  • Turn up the heat to medium and add 3 cups of milk, stirring constantly until it simmers. Slowly incorporate the remaining 3 cups of milk, adding 1/4 cup at a time and allowing the mixture to simmer after each addition for 10 to 15 minutes. Keep stirring until you reach the desired thickness, which should take about 5 to 10 minutes. Season with 30 grinds of black pepper and salt to taste.
