Golden Rum Cake

Decadent rum cake with buttery walnuts, soaked in a luscious butter rum glaze for a moist holiday treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
  • 1 (3.4 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup dark rum, divided
  • 0.75 cup water, divided
  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 cup butter
Instructions:
  • Collect all the ingredients needed and preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  • Prepare a 10-inch Bundt pan by greasing and flouring it, then evenly distribute chopped walnuts over the bottom.
  • In a large bowl, blend together the cake mix and pudding mix. Add eggs, 1/2 cup rum, 1/2 cup water, and oil, and mix until fully combined. Pour the batter over the chopped nuts in the pan.
  • Bake in the oven until a toothpick comes out clean, approximately 1 hour.
  • Prepare the glaze by mixing sugar, butter, and the last 1/4 cup of water in a saucepan. Boil on medium heat and stir continuously until it thickens and slightly darkens, approximately 5 minutes. Take it off the heat and blend in the remaining 1/2 cup of rum.
  • Allow the freshly baked cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then gently flip it onto a serving plate. Brush the delectable glaze over the top and sides, letting the cake soak it up. Repeat this process until all the glaze is used up.
  • Dig in and savor every bite!
