Elevate custard with a touch of golden syrup for a decadent twist.
Ingredients:
  • 300mls thin cream
  • 250mls (1 cup) milk
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 80mls (1/3 cup) golden syrup
Instructions:
  • In a small saucepan, combine the cream and milk and heat over medium heat until just boiling. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk egg yolks and golden syrup until pale. Gradually pour in the hot milk while stirring. Transfer the mixture to a clean saucepan and cook over low heat, whisking constantly, for 10-15 minutes until the custard thickens to coat the back of a wooden spoon. Be careful not to overheat. Strain the custard into a clean jug or bowl. Serve immediately or chill with plastic wrap touching the surface to prevent a skin from forming. Enjoy warm or cold.
