Juicy pork chops baked to perfection and topped with a decadent mushroom sauce, Grandma's recipe is sure to impress at any gathering.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 clove garlic, pressed
  • 6 pork chops
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 (8 ounce) can mushrooms, drained
  • 1 cup dry sherry
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
Instructions:
  • Heat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant. Season pork chops with salt and pepper, then brown on both sides in the skillet for about 3 minutes per side. Transfer pork chops to a baking pan or Dutch oven.
  • Add the mushrooms to the skillet along with the pork drippings and garlic. Pour in the sherry and beef broth, making sure to scrape up any flavorful bits stuck to the pan.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil before pouring it over the pork chops in the baking pan. Cover the pan with a lid or aluminum foil.
  • After 45 minutes in the preheated oven, uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  • Transfer the chops to a serving platter. Place the baking pan on the stovetop over medium heat. Combine cornstarch and water. Once the pan juices boil, gradually add the cornstarch mixture and simmer until thickened, about 2 minutes. Drizzle the sauce over the chops and enjoy!
