Green Harissa

Add a touch of fiery Harissa to enhance your Moroccan and North African dishes. Use cautiously due to its intense spiciness!
Ingredients:
  • 6 ounces bird's eye chiles, seeded and stems removed
  • 12 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1 tablespoon coriander, ground
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon dried mint
  • 0.5 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 0.5 cup olive oil
Instructions:
  • Combine chiles, garlic, ground coriander, cumin, salt, mint, and cilantro in a blender or food processor. If needed, add a splash of olive oil to adjust the consistency. Transfer to a bowl or jar and top with the remaining olive oil before refrigerating.
  • Each time you use Harissa, make sure to coat the surface with a thin layer of oil. Once you finish the Harissa, you can use the infused oil to enhance the flavor of your fried or baked dishes.
