Elevate store-bought glaze with apple jelly and herbs for a quick and delicious main course.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons teriyaki baste and glaze (from 12-oz bottle)
  • 2 tablespoons apple jelly
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated gingerroot
  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts (5 oz each)
Instructions:
  • Preheat the grill. In a 1-quart saucepan, combine teriyaki glaze, apple jelly, and gingerroot. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, until the jelly is melted. Transfer half of the mixture to a small bowl or custard cup; mix in cilantro. Set aside for serving with the chicken.
  • Grill the chicken covered over medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes, remembering to turn and baste with the apple-ginger mixture during the final 10 minutes of grilling, until the chicken juices run clear when a knife is inserted in the thickest part (reaching 170°F). Serve with the remaining apple-ginger sauce.
