Grilled red cabbage with apples, onions, maple syrup, and vinegar for a cozy, flavorful slaw.
Ingredients:
  • 1 white onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 Granny Smith apple, skin on, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 (2 pound) head red cabbage, shredded
  • 1/3 cup chopped parsley
Instructions:
  • Heat up your outdoor grill to a perfect medium-high temperature and give the grate a light coating of oil.
  • Begin by heating a touch of olive oil in a grill pan over high heat. Sauté the onion for 2 minutes until golden. Toss in apples, maple syrup, vinegar, garlic powder, and onion powder. Continue cooking and stirring until everything melds together, around 2 minutes.
  • Lower the heat to low. Add red cabbage to the grill pan and cook until wilted and slightly tender, around 15 minutes. Sprinkle with parsley and serve warm.
