Grilled red cabbage slaw with delicious hints of apples, maple syrup, and apple cider vinegar.
Ingredients:
  • 1 medium white onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 Granny Smith apple - peeled, cored and chopped
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1.5 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 head red cabbage, shredded
  • 0.33 cup chopped fresh parsley
Instructions:
  • Preheat grill to a toasty 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Heat olive oil in a grill pan and sauté onion for 2 minutes. Stir in chopped apples, maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, and onion powder until well combined.
  • Once the heat is low at 300 degrees F (150 degrees C), grill the red cabbage in the pan until it wilts and becomes lightly tender, approximately 15 minutes.
  • Take the pot off the heat and sprinkle in the freshly chopped parsley. Serve and savor while it's still warm.
