Grilled swordfish steaks with spicy homemade white hot sauce - a simple and delicious summer dish!
Ingredients:
  • 1 habanero chile, seeded and thinly sliced
  • 0.25 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 0.5 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon extra-hot prepared horseradish
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar, or to taste
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 0.13 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 (6 ounce) swordfish steaks
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon sliced green onions
Instructions:
  • Assemble all your ingredients.
  • Create a flavorful paste by crushing the habanero and kosher salt with a mortar and pestle until smooth.
  • Combine mayonnaise, horseradish, lemon juice, vinegar, white pepper, and garlic powder and mix until smooth.
  • Pass the sauce through a fine mesh strainer to discard the pepper skins and horseradish particles. Set aside for later use.
  • Get the charcoal grill fired up until the coals are sizzling hot.
  • Drizzle both sides of the filets with fragrant olive oil and generously season with salt.
  • Grill the filets until they are springy to the touch, then take them off the heat.
  • Arrange the fish on a serving plate and drizzle with spicy white sauce. Garnish with fresh green onions.
