Spooky Bisquick® fingers ready in 40 minutes for a fun Halloween treat.
Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 5 drops yellow food color
  • 3 drops red food color
  • 1 1/2 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
  • Chocolate ready-to-spread frosting (from 16-ounce tub), if desired
  • Betty Crocker™ red decorating gel (from 0.68-ounce tube), if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°. In a large bowl, combine powdered sugar, butter, vanilla, egg, and food colors using a spoon. Add 1 1/4 cups of Bisquick mix and mix well. Shape the dough into a ball. On a clean surface, sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of Bisquick mix. Roll the dough ball in the Bisquick mix and knead it 10 times.
  • Divide the dough into 10 pieces and shape each into a 6-inch log using lightly floured hands. Place them about 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Bake for 6 to 8 minutes until firm. Allow to cool for 2 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Let the cookies cool completely for about 15 minutes. Cut each strip in half widthwise. Frost the rounded ends of the cookies to resemble fingernails, then drizzle gel over the cut ends for a bloody effect.
