Savor a delightful ham and cheese salad served in a homemade bread bowl.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box (9 oz) frozen baby sweet peas
  • 2 cups cubed cooked ham
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (4 oz)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped onion
  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons yellow mustard
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 4 eggs
Instructions:
  • Prepare and drain peas following the package instructions; allow to cool. Combine peas with the remaining salad ingredients in a large bowl. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Thoroughly coat a 9-inch pie plate with shortening or cooking spray.
  • In a 2-quart saucepan, bring water and butter to a boil. Stir in Bisquick mix all at once, then simmer while continuously stirring for about 1 minute and 30 seconds until mixture forms a ball. Take off heat and stir in eggs one by one until smooth. Spread the mixture in the bottom of a pie plate without extending up the sides.
  • Bake without a cover for 30-35 minutes until the center puffs up and is dry. Let it cool for 30 minutes. Right before serving, add the salad filling and cut into wedges.
