Decadent chocolate torte with a fluffy texture.
Ingredients:
  • 250g roasted hazelnuts, roughly chopped
  • 250g packet dark chocolate bits
  • 10.00 gm cocoa powder, sifted
  • 8 eggwhites, at room temperature
  • 161.25 gm caster sugar
  • 62.50 ml plain flour, sifted
  • 250g punnet strawberries, hulled, sliced
  • 1 orange, juiced
  • 300ml double thick cream
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180°C while you prepare a 26cm (base) springform pan by greasing and lining it.
  • Mix together the hazelnuts, chocolate bits, and cocoa in a bowl until well combined.
  • Step up your baking game by using an electric mixer to whip up egg whites until soft peaks form. Slowly add sugar, one tablespoon at a time, making sure to beat well after each addition. Keep beating until the mixture is thick and glossy.
  • Gently combine hazelnut mixture, flour, and egg whites using a large metal spoon. Transfer mixture to the prepared pan, smooth the top, and bake for 35 to 40 minutes until a skewer comes out clean. Let it cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  • Combine fresh, juicy strawberries with zesty orange juice in a bowl, then cover and chill until you're ready to indulge. Spread luscious cream over the deliciously cooled torte, generously topping it with the flavorful strawberries. Finally, serve and bask in the delightful flavors!
