Indulge in a flavorful vegan pizza with herb-roasted garlic, creamy nutritional yeast sauce, and a crispy homemade crust - all the taste, without the dairy.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 heads garlic, peeled
  • 2 cups olive oil, or as needed
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried marjoram
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1 cup nutritional yeast
  • 3 cups smooth tomato sauce
  • 0.5 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 avocado - peeled, pitted, and sliced
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) for delicious results.
  • In a large bowl, combine sugar and yeast with warm water. Allow the mixture to sit until the yeast softens and creates a creamy foam, approximately 5 minutes. Mix in flour until a cohesive dough forms. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until it is smooth and elastic, for about 6 to 8 minutes. Transfer the dough to a bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rest until it rises slightly, which should take around 30 minutes.
  • Spread the peeled garlic cloves in an 8x8-inch baking dish and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle with oregano, basil, marjoram, and sage for a burst of herbaceous flavor.
  • Roast garlic in the preheated oven until tender, for 30 to 40 minutes. Then, remove from oven and allow to cool.
  • Prepare the baking sheet by spreading a layer of the cooled olive oil infused with herbs. Place the dough onto the oiled baking sheet and brush the top of the dough with more oil and herbs.
  • Crush garlic cloves in a bowl using a garlic press or fork, then mix in nutritional yeast. If the mixture seems dry, blend in a bit of the herbed olive oil. Combine tomato sauce with the garlic mixture, spread it over the dough, and finish by arranging red onion slices on top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-20 minutes until the crust is perfectly crunchy, then top the pizza with avocado slices.
