Heavenly lemon cake with a tangy syrup. Simple yet irresistible, it's recipe-worthy.
Ingredients:
  • 1.25 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 lemons, zested
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 lemons, juiced
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a round cake pan by lining it with parchment paper.
  • Using an electric mixer, blend 1 1/4 cups of sugar and butter until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well between each addition. Stir in flour, lemon zest, and baking powder until the batter is smooth. Pour into the prepared pan.
  • Bake in the oven until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean, about 45-55 minutes.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine 1/2 cup of sugar and lemon juice. Stir and cook until the sugar is completely dissolved, approximately 5 minutes.
  • Using a fork, gently pierce the top of the warm cake and generously drizzle syrup over it. Allow the cake to cool slightly before slicing and enjoying.
