Versatile cookie recipe - make drop or bar cookies.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 3 eggs
  • 3.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup molasses
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a cozy 325 degrees F (160 degrees C) and generously grease the cookie sheets.
  • In a large bowl, whip up a velvety mixture of butter, sugar, and spices. Gently incorporate the eggs one by one. Add a sifted mix of flour, baking soda, and salt, stirring until fully combined. Fold in the molasses and raisins.
  • Spread the mixture onto a cookie sheet and bake for 25 minutes until golden brown. While still warm, slice into bars and allow to cool on a wire rack.
  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Spoon cookie dough onto a greased cookie sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes. Allow cookies to cool on wire racks.
