Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 6 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 3 egg whites
Instructions:
  • Combine cornstarch, sugar, and salt in a glass or ceramic bowl. Stir in water and microwave on high for about 2 minutes until the mixture thickens and becomes clear. Allow it to cool slightly.
  • In a large glass or metal bowl, beat egg whites until foamy. Gradually add sugar mixture while continuing to whip until stiff peaks form. Completely cover pie filling with meringue, making sure to seal to the edges. Bake in a preheated 450°F (220°C) oven until golden brown, about 7 to 8 minutes.
