Whip up a quick and delicious Asian lamb dish with steamed bok choy and white rice.
Ingredients:
  • 2 x 240g lamb back straps
  • olive oil cooking spray
  • 135.00 gm Hoi Sin Sauce
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 1/2 tsp Chinese five-spice powder (see note)
  • Steamed white rice, to serve
  • Steamed bok choy, to serve
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 200C. Mix hoisin sauce, minced garlic, and five-spice powder in a ceramic dish. Add the lamb and coat it with the mixture. Cover and refrigerate for a minimum of 20 minutes, or longer if desired.
  • Preheat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat and lightly spray with oil. Add the lamb, keeping the marinade aside. Sear for 1 minute on each side until golden brown. Transfer the lamb to a baking tray and bake for 8 minutes for a medium cook. Cover with foil and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Pour the reserved marinade into a frying pan and let it come to a boil. Lower the heat to simmer for 5 minutes. Slice the lamb, spoon rice into bowls, place slices of lamb and bok choy on top, drizzle with the marinade, and serve.
