Holiday punch bowl ice ring with festive maraschino cherries, mint leaves, and gold kiwi for a colorful and vibrant touch.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (10 ounce) jar maraschino cherries, drained and juice reserved, divided
  • 3 tablespoons fresh mint leaves, or as needed
  • 2 cups water, or as needed
  • 2 kiwis, peeled and sliced
  • 1 gold kiwi, peeled and sliced
  • ice cubes
  • 1.5 cups green grapes
Instructions:
  • Ensure your freezer has a flat, 14x14-inch space available.
  • Create an attractive display by placing maraschino cherries in a decorative pattern at the base of a 10- to 12-inch gelatin mold. Surround the cherries with mint leaves, placing them facing outward and touching the mold.
  • Mix maraschino cherry juice with 2 cups of water in a bowl. Pour a 1/2 inch layer into the mold over the cherries and mint, saving the rest of the liquid for later. Freeze the mold until partially frozen, approximately 1 hour.
  • First, clean the mold and place green and gold kiwis on top of the cherries. Secure kiwi slices in place using ice cubes and grapes. Add the remaining ice and grapes on top. Gently pour the remaining water-juice mixture into the mold, adding more water if needed to reach the top edge of the mold. Freeze the mold until it's solid, which should take about 24 hours.
  • Unmold the ice ring by submerging the mold in a bowl with 1 inch of hot water until it separates, then transfer it to the punch bowl and serve right away.
