Simplify hosting with DIY Homemade Margaritas: provide cups, ice, tequila, mix, and garnishes for a customizable cocktail experience.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup lime juice from 10-12 medium limes
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup Cointreau or orange juice and zest
  • Zest from half a lime
  • 1/4 teaspoon citric acid, optional
Instructions:
  • Extract the lime juice by pressing them through a mesh strainer into a small bowl.
  • Prepare the syrup by gently simmering lime juice, granulated sugar, and salt in a small saucepan over medium heat. Whisk occasionally for 3-5 minutes until the sugar is completely dissolved. Once dissolved, remove from heat and allow it to cool to room temperature.
  • After the lime sugar mixture has cooled, gently mix in the Cointreau (or orange juice for a non-alcoholic option), lime zest, and citric acid, if desired.
  • Store the margarita mix in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Give it a good shake or stir before serving to remix the settled lime zest and any separated syrup.
  • For a delicious Margarita, mix 2 ounces of tequila with 2 ounces of margarita mix. Serve over ice and stir, or shake in a shaker and strain into an ice-filled glass.
