Vibrant hibiscus margarita with homemade syrup for a refreshing, colorful cocktail to impress guests all year round.
Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup dried hibiscus flowers
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 oz (2 tablespoons) Hibiscus Simple Syrup
  • 1 oz (2 tablespoons) blanco tequila
  • 3/4 oz clear orange-flavored liqueur
  • 3/4 oz fresh lime juice
  • Lime slices, if desired
Instructions:
  • In a 2-quart saucepan, combine sugar, hibiscus flowers, and water. Bring to a gentle boil over medium-high heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let it sit for 30 minutes. Strain the mixture to remove solids, then transfer to a container. Refrigerate for up to 3 days. Yield: 1 1/3 cups.
  • For a delicious margarita, combine 1 oz of simple syrup, tequila, orange-flavored liqueur, and lime juice in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously, then strain into a glass filled with fresh ice. Finish by garnishing with lime slices. Enjoy!
