Easy and delicious homemade pepperoni pizza with classic crust and tomato sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 0.5 (12 ounce) can CONTADINA® Tomato Paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil, crushed
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3.25 cups all-purpose flour, or more as needed
  • 2 (.25 ounce) envelopes FLEISCHMANN'S® Pizza Crust Yeast or RapidRise® Yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 1.3333333730698 cups very warm water (120 degrees F to 130 degrees F)
  • 0.33333334326744 cup oil
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, or more to taste
  • 1 (6 ounce) package HORMEL® Pepperoni
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) and generously grease two 12-inch pizza pans.
  • Prepare the flavorful sauce by whisking together water, tomato paste, oregano, basil, garlic powder, onion powder, sugar, salt, and pepper in a bowl until smooth. Set aside.
  • Create the crust by mixing 2 cups of flour, yeast, sugar, and salt in a large bowl. Pour in warm water and oil, then stir until fully combined, approximately 1 minute. Slowly incorporate the remaining flour into the mixture until a soft, sticky dough comes together.
  • Place the dough onto a floured surface and knead until it becomes smooth and elastic, which should take about 4 minutes. Feel free to add additional flour if necessary. If you are using RapidRise yeast, cover the dough and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  • Divide the dough in half. Flour your hands lightly, then gently press each portion onto the pizza pans.
  • Spread the sauce evenly over the dough and sprinkle with cheese and pepperoni.
  • Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 18 to 20 minutes, switching pan positions halfway through, until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
