Combine turkey drippings, flour, and chicken broth for rich Thanksgiving gravy.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups turkey drippings, or as needed
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth, or more as needed
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Pour the turkey drippings into a 4-cup measuring cup and let them settle naturally to allow the oil to rise to the top and the juices to settle at the bottom. Extract 1/4 cup of the oil using a kitchen syringe and transfer it to a saucepan.
  • Combine flour and oil in a saucepan over medium-low heat until it turns light brown, about 5 minutes. Gradually pour 1 cup of drippings into the roux, stirring until heated and smooth, about 5 minutes. Add chicken broth and continue cooking and stirring until heated through, about 5 minutes. Adjust gravy thickness by adding more broth as needed.
