Indulge in a delectable Honey Bun Cake with cinnamon, brown sugar, and pecans baked into moist yellow cake mix, topped with a heavenly vanilla glaze from Betty Crocker™ Soul Food Collection.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Yellow Cake Mix
  • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 container (8 oz) sour cream
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan) and generously coat a 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, mix cake mix, oil, eggs, and sour cream with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes, making sure to scrape the bowl occasionally. Spread half of the batter in the pan.
  • Combine brown sugar, pecans, and cinnamon in a small bowl. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the batter in the pan, then pour and spread the remaining batter over the pecan mixture.
  • Bake for 28 to 32 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove from oven and place on a cooling rack. In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add milk 1/4 teaspoon at a time until desired consistency. Poke holes all over the warm cake with a fork. Pour and spread the powdered sugar mixture over the warm cake. Allow to cool completely for about 2 hours. Store loosely covered.
